Lil’ Suzie Zombie Update

Previously I showed the concept sketch for this project. Finally have some Work in Progress pictures to post. Still have some cleaning up to do on certain areas and have to finish the base up but the idea is all there.

Lil’ Suzie, recent addition to the ways of the Undead, travels the night with her beloved Teddy in one hand and a tasty snack in the form of a severed arm in the other.

Have a number of other concepts for the Lil’ Suzie line of collectibles. Each one will be Lil’ Suzie “re-imagined” each time. My imagination is the limit.

Krystal Nova

Been a while since I posted anything new.

Here are the some pictures I took of my “In Progress” Krystal Nova statue. The first picture shows the initial sketch and color drawing that the statue is based on.

The sculpting phase is done and the next step is to start making the molds and resin casts.

The goal is to have this available as both a “Garage Kit” for modelers to build and paint up themselves and as a fully assembled and painted statue in limited numbers.

Hopefully the mold making will go smoothly and the next pictures I put up will be of the casts and a painted artists proof.

Captain Freedom

Below are some designs for a new sculpture I have started to work on.

Its one of three statues that I am planing on trying to produce a limited run of in the next few months. To be available as a complete painted up statue or as a “garage kit” for people to assemble and paint up themselves.

I’m going to try and post in progress pictures as I make my way through the project.

As with most of my illustrations I wanted to create a character who in my head has his own back story but I’m capturing him in a specific moment. That moment has to be “cliche” or “generic” enough that even though he is an unknown character, the viewer would create there own back story and meaning behind the piece.

Scourge of the Galaxy – General Zog

Don’t let his diminutive size of 9 inches tall fool you. General Zog has conquered countless worlds, the mere mention of his name in certain parts of the galaxy can cause mass hysteria.

His goal is simple, total and unquestioning subjugation of the cosmos. Zog and his gelatinous mob of warriors scour the galaxy looking for new worlds to make squishy and compliant to the rule of Zog.

Sky City – Digital Drawing

Really can’t think of anything better to call this one.

I wanted to try and do some concept art using digital drawing and photo manipulation techniques. It was my first try at it and it was a lot of fun. I’m hoping to do some more of these in the near future. The first picture shows the initial photo that I started with. The 2nd photo is what I ended up with after I did some digital drawing and photo manipulation on top of it. The space ship is this little wooden spaceship I built out of scaps I had sitting around.

The idea is that there is this huge, futuristic city. It started with this kind of gothic architecture and then advanced into a more modern architecture. Rather than tear down what they already built, the people just built around the existing buildings.

Lil’ Suzie Zombie

Did this quick little sketch for a possible upcoming project. Tentatively called Lil Suzie Zombie.

This will be a statue about 6 inches or so tall that I may produce a limited edition run of.

I thought it would be “clever” if from the front she just looked like this cute unsuspecting little kid zombie. Awwww…how adorable.

Then as you see the other side of the statue you see she’s just like every other zombie.

If cute zombies are your thing you’ll want one of these. I’ll post more as this project progresses.

Christopher and Bear

The Cosmic Kid isn’t all about just robots and aliens and clones (although those things are awesome). I also happen to love Children’s Book Illustration. Many years ago I created a couple of characters called Christopher and Bear.

Cosmic Tales – The Return of Krystal Nova

I’m a huge fan of Pulp Science-Fiction Illustration. So a few years back I started doing some “Pulp Sci-Fi” covers using some characters and stories that I had been developing.

I wont bore you with complete details of Krystal Nova’s story but this cover comes from later in her adventures. You’ll notice she seems to be missing something. Well at one point she was grievously wounded, thought dead to the galaxy. But you cant keep Nova down. That’s her noggin healing in the cryo-tank on her back.

Cosmic Tales – Cyborg Caveman

Yet another “Cosmic Tales” cover.

When alien creatures arrive in our distant past and begin to turn our ancient ancestors into Space Zombies…who is going to save us? Caveman Cyborg of course!!
This one has it all, cavemen, cyborgs and zombies.

Cosmic Tales – Queen and Son

Here is another “Cosmic Tales” cover using some characters and stories that I have been developing, The Clone Queen and her son.

Who exactly is the Clone Queen? Hmmmm…you’ll just have to wait and see.
